SOOGuard Multi-parameter Navigation Observation System
Date:2017-03-21 16:00:27

Andra's FerryBox system is called SOOGuard. It can be installed on mobile ships to perform long-term navigation measurements of various parameters of the surface of the water body with hull motion trajectory. The data can be transmitted in real time and displayed on a web browser. The parameters that can be measured include temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll, CDOM, fDOM, turbidity, blue-green algae, pCO2, oil in water, latitude and longitude, wind speed, wind direction, temperature, air pressure, relative humidity, visibility, rainfall, etc.It has the characteristics of high stability, small maintenance and low operating cost.

The SooGuard multi-parameter navigation observation system was jointly developed by Andra and the UK National Oceanographic Center. The system design has drawn on the long-term installation experience of the UK National Oceanographic Center to optimize the design of the system with P&O Ferry. The system is simple to maintain and flexible to collect data, and can use commercial ships to conduct long-term and large-scale scientific research data collection work at a very low cost. The system sensor is installed in a flow cell with a pressure of 10 bar for measurement, and data is collected and transmitted through a SmartGuard digital generator.

Standard measurement parameters: conductivity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll, water flow in circulation tubes

Optional measurement parameters: CDOM, pH, turbidity, various third-party sensors (analog, RS-232/RS-422), GPS, other parameters required by users (customizable).

The GPS data of the hull can be collected in real time through the SmartGuard digital collector. In addition, some other parameters that the hull itself can be collected in real time through the hull (such as the hull meteorological parameters).SmartGuard is Andra's latest digital processor, which has low power consumption and can control 40 Andra or third-party sensors simultaneously using different signal standards.

Through Andra's real-time communication and data demonstration software, it can support USB, LAN/Ethernet and serial port for real-time communication methods. The SmartGuard digital collector can store, store data, send data to the data receiving station or view it directly on site when needed. The system status can be viewed directly in the engine room or displayed on the tablet selected by the user.

Standard systems include:
1. Circulation pool
2. Sensors: conductivity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll
3. 10m cable is used for the system to connect to the SmartGuard digital collector
4. SmartGuard digital collector equipped with cables to power the digital collector
5. Real-time data acquisition and display software
6. Real-time output (without cable)

Optional items
1. CDOM sensor
2. Turbidity (4112/4112A/4112B/4112C)
3. Real-time data transmission of satellite/Ethernet
4. Other third-party sensors
5. Additional circulation pool
6. Meteorological sensors
7. Display on the computer in the engine room, including the small box where SmartGuard is placed and the GeoView display software
8. Other configurations customized according to user needs
