principle SPAD-502 Plus evaluates the relative content of chlorophyll in the current leaves by measuring the absorption rate of leaves in two wavelength segments. The figure below shows the absorption rate of chlorophyll on the spectrum in both leaf samples.It can be seen from the figure that chlorophyll has peaked absorption in the blue region (400-500 nm) and red region (600-700 nm), but it has no absorption in the near-infrared region.
