1.jpgThe conductivity sensor 4319 is used for the measurement of conductivity in seawater. The probe can be integrated into the Andra Marine Guard platform or SmartGuard smart digital meter via AiCaP CANbus communication, or used as a separate sensor via RS-232.

Conductivity is a key parameter for determining the basic physical characteristics in seawater.The magnitude of seawater conductivity is mainly related to the temperature and the amount of dissolved inorganic substances in water. Therefore, the salinity of seawater can be obtained by measuring the conductivity, temperature, and depth accordingly.Salinity is defined as the concentration of dissolved solids in seawater, and many other important parameters in seawater also depend on salinity, such as the speed of sound and density.
The conductivity sensor 4319 adopts the inductive measurement principle. Compared with the electrode method, the inductive measurement method has the characteristics of long-term measurement stability and anti-biological pollution.The 4319 conductivity sensor can output data through two methods: AiCaP CANbus and RS-232.The AiCaP method can output conductivity and temperature, and the RS-232 can output conductivity, temperature, salinity, density, and sound speed.
