From November 13th-15rd, Zealquest & BioSonics were invited to attend the 11th Annual Meeting of Asian Fisheries Acoustics Society (AFAS 2017) in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. AFAS 2017 is organized by Asian Fisheries Acoustics Society, Dalian Ocean University and South China Sea Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences.

AFAS 2017 is useful to academic research, information exchange and international cooperation in the fields of the development and utilization of Fishery Environment, Fishery Resources, Aquaculture and Biotechnology, Fishery Engineering and Fishery Organism Disease Control in China, Asia and the world. More than 100 exhibitors from all over the world have taken part in AFAS 2017.

Mr. Timothy Acker, the CEO of BioSonics, gave two reports about “Specialized Tools for Biological Assessment Using Split Beam Sonar” and “Hydroacoustics Evaluation of new hydroacoustic system for fine scale assessment and mapping of aquatic vegetation and substrate classification”. Mr. Timothy Acker introduced the principle and application of echo detection technolog, the composition and function of echo detection technolog as well as the latest research progress of BioSonics products. Mr. Timothy Acker communicated with researchers about how to use the echo detection technolog to achieve the purposes of research and other academic questions.

As one of the main sponsors, Zealquest had a booth at the exhibition and showed the products and technologies from BioSonics. During the exhibition, Zealquest's technicians exchanged with attendees about the theory of products, technical characters, application skills and experience.
