principle:

The SRS-SD1000 is a new portable soil breathing system designed specifically for measuring soil breathing and other field gas exchange.The battery-powered operating system weighs only 2 kg and includes a console and a 1-liter soil breathing chamber, a high-precision micro CO2 infrared gas analyzer installed directly inside the soil breathing chamber.This greatly reduces the time from CO2 to the time when the analyzer measures CO2 changes.


The operation is carried out in an open system state, and the surrounding air is constantly circulating with the system to ensure that the soil as the sample maintains normal conditions.A pressure relief valve is installed on it to prevent the air pressure in the breathing room from gradually increasing, and to prevent the generated CO2 from dispersing into the soil.The soil breathing chamber itself consists of an upper breathing chamber and a metal ring.This circle is inserted into the soil, regardless of soil conditions, to ensure that the upper respiratory chamber is in the best position and to ensure minimum disturbance to the soil.When sampling on larger field areas, extra metal rings can be used to place them in the soil first and then perform relative measurements.In this system, temperature can also be measured.


In order to obtain the daily respiration mode of soil, some field tests require multiple field respiratory chambers, which can be continuously measured over a few days cycles.The CO2 analysis signal feedback from the sample can be received using a portable gas multiplexer.To maintain the internal conditions of the respiratory chamber, the ventilation cover on the respiratory chamber can be opened or closed when sampling is not required.
